Boat Captain

Boat Captains operate assigned vessels safely while providing guests with a professional and enjoyable experience on the water. This role requires proven boat-handling skills, sound judgment and the ability to make responsible decisions based on weather, sea conditions and passenger safety.
You will be employed by Sicon Revan and assigned to one of our client properties in Aruba. Sicon Revan manages your employment contract, payroll, confirmed benefits and placement support. The client’s name and complete assignment details will be shared with suitable candidates during the selection process.
Responsibilities
- Operate, navigate, dock and secure the assigned vessel safely and responsibly.
- Complete pre-departure inspections and verify fuel, communication devices and required safety equipment.
- Welcome passengers, provide safety briefings and ensure passenger limits and onboard procedures are followed.

Respond calmly to emergencies and follow established communication and emergency-response procedures.
- Keep the vessel clean and organized and report mechanical problems or damaged equipment promptly.
Must Have
- Valid Aruba work permit or Dutch passport.
- Valid Klein Vaarbewijs appropriate to the vessel and operating area, together with any additional authorization required for the assignment.
- Demonstrated experience operating, navigating and docking motor vessels.
- Strong knowledge of marine safety, weather conditions, navigation and emergency procedures.
- Professional English sufficient to brief and assist passengers and communicate during emergencies.
- Ability to swim confidently and work safely aboard a moving vessel in sun, wind and changing sea conditions.

Availability for flexible schedules, including early mornings, weekends and holidays.
Nice to have
- Previous passenger-excursion, watersports, resort or tourism experience.
- First-aid, CPR or water-rescue certification.
- Marine VHF radio certification or experience.
- Basic engine, mechanical or vessel-maintenance knowledge.
